Haruno Yoshida appointed president of BT Japan

Experienced telecom industry executive Haruno Yoshida has been appointed head of BT’s Japan operations. As president of BT Japan, Haruno will drive the strategy and execution of all of our business in the country, BT announced Tuesday.

She has 20 years of global sales experience in the communications industry and prior to joining BT was general manager at Verizon Business.

Haruno started her career with Motorola in Japan and then moved to a telecommunications company in Canada. From 2000 to 2008, she held a variety of roles at NTT in Japan and in the United States.

Commenting on her decision to join BT Japan, Haruno said:

“I am delighted to join a company that is respected in the industry for its rich and diverse heritage and global footprint. I know from experience BT’s excellent reputation for innovation and customer service.

“I am also very proud to join a company that is recognised as a champion for corporate social responsibility and, in particular, for the cause of diversity at the work place, which I have supported throughout my career.”

Kevin Taylor, president, BT Asia Pacific, said Haruno’s global credentials “make her one of the best leaders in our industry. She has a solid reputation for transformation and delivery. Her relationships and knowledge of the highly competitive Japanese market will serve us well as we continue to strive for excellence in customer service and seizing new business opportunities.”

BT’s 20- year presence in Japan is continuing to expand, underpinned by a joint venture between KDDI & BT Global Solutions (KBGS) and partnerships with IT holdings and Hitachi.
