BT Global Services has partnered with Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) to work collaboratively on several research projects.
The school, one of Australia’s oldest executive training institutions, will also offer a ten-week course in its MBA programme that will include regular sessions at the BTGS Sydney office.
Students will examine the company’s global strategy and its global mindset competencies. Each will present a report to the company at the end of the course.
Students will also have regular access to a BT senior executive who will act as a mentor.
One research project is an analysis of BT’s “global mindset” – namely, the attributes that determine how well individuals and organisations operate successfully within cross-cultural environments and multiple geographies. It will include 25 to 30 face-to-face interviews and surveys in order to discover the global mindset competencies are present within BT.
The company plans to use these insights for staff development and recruitment.
Another project looks at manager transitioning between countries, while another is a living case study.
Paul Migliorini, Managing Director, BT Australasia, said: “We are really pleased with this innovative and collaborative partnership with the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
“Our company stands to gain immensely from the creativity and enthusiasm the students will bring to the projects, and we look forward to helping them apply MGSM’s leading curriculum so that we they gain valuable experience in a variety of management areas and develop skills to become innovative, global leaders.”
