It’s increasingly cloudy out there (no direct reference to the British summer intended) but, for the world’s key financial markets, cloud is a good thing.
However, Gartner predicts that the term ‘cloud’ will increase in popularity and use in the coming years, and advocates extreme care in making sure that cloud services really do offer the tailored, specific provisions promised.
Reassuringly, the financial services community cloud approach is held up as a shining example of doing exactly what it says it will — providing vital connections between the world’s key financial markets’ hosting centres to create a virtual global market infrastructure.
And the BT Radianz portfolio, supporting the world’s largest secure networked financial community, is going from strength to strength. Building on Best Data Center Provider award in the 2012 Waters Rankings, BT Radianz Venue Interconnect is the latest way to provide the lowest commercially-available latency between trading venues, and has recently extended BT’s hosting capabilities tenfold.
By offering the fastest routes to support the best execution of trades, BT Radianz Venue Interconnect is helping customers gain faster, closer and smarter access to financial markets globally. And the BT Radianz Cloud is growing all the time…
Singapore Exchange (SGX) uses BT Radianz to provide access and connectivity for its new hubs in Chicago and London — the first Asian exchange with hubs in the US and Europe.
And Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has chosen BT Radianz Venue for its customers hosted at its planned new data centre. The BT service will provide fully-managed hosting capabilities, low latency and interconnectivity between global trading venues to HKEx customers.
Everything you need for financial data centre hosting
BT Radianz Venue comprises two services designed to help customers address the challenges of liquidity, fragmentation and new trading opportunities.
BT Radianz Venue Presence allows BT to manage a client’s server and connectivity infrastructure hosted in both BT and third-party venues. And BT Radianz Venue Interconnect is a new service from BT that offers optimised latency between trading venues within the same city and between different cities both domestically and internationally.
Outstanding performance backed by industry recognition
The BT Radianz portfolio gets consistent recognition from both users and industry bodies.
As well as the Best Data Center Provider award in the 2012 Waters Rankings, BT Radianz also won Best Network Provider, Best Data Networking and Infrastructure Provider at the 2012 Inside Market Data awards and headed the Cloud Computing category of the FStech 2012 awards.
