Why we’re investing in Turkey, the Middle East and Africa

Following the successful programmes in Asia Pacific and Latin America, we’re today announcing a series of initiatives, aimed at doubling our business across Turkey, the Middle East and Africa. We’re hiring additional highly qualified staff, including professional services specialists and customers will gain access to a richer portfolio of innovative services, leveraging our network breadth and depth. So why are we doing this?

This is a customer led plan, which is part of a wider investment programme supporting our global strategy. Customers have told us they need specific solutions, in specific territories, in order to grow their business successfully.

They have asked us to focus our attention on four high-growth economies: Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.  To give you a flavour of the growth numbers we’re talking about: Turkey was the fastest growing economy in Europe last year, with an overall growth rate of 8.9 percent. This makes it one of the fastest growing economies in the world. And South Africa, one of the BRICS[1] countries, is by far the biggest economy of the whole continent.
