From the Desk of Kai Thiel: GTM in Europe

Guten Tag, everyone, hello!

I write to you today after some very exciting months for BT Global Telecoms Markets in Germany and a well-deserved break over the festive season. I hope you enjoyed one, too.

We hosted many of you again for our traditional, annual Reseller event in Munich just a few months back at the Oktoberfest. As always, it was a great opportunity for my team and me to meet you and talk about where we’re all going and how we can continue to support you.

We had more than 80 customers joining from all parts of Germany and CEE.  Obviously, we plan to keep this event in our calendar for 2013:  The feedback we get from you on both the business and the Oktoberfest parts of the programme is simply awesome. [Read more…]

Grow your enterprise portfolio with unified communications: Add cloud-based conferencing

Many of your corporate and SME customers are on the look-out for new ways of working to make their staffs more efficient. If you can provide a new approach that brings with it cost savings from reduced travel, you’ll help your customers improve their balance sheets, their environmental impact and their employees’ work-life balance.

BT One Conferencing gives you the opportunity to add white-labelled conferencing services from the cloud to your portfolio. Boosting your revenue streams with no upfront costs, these services marketed under your own brand can drive your business forward and help you compete more effectively in your marketplace. Update from the desk of Chris Bruce: GTM in North America

I’m delighted to be writing to you for the first time in my role as director of international sales and consulting services, BT Global Telecom Markets.  You may already know me as co-chair, Wireless Broadband Alliance, and previously as CEO of BT Openzone. I joined GTM a few months ago as director of BT Advise for Communications; I gave an interview then to the editor of Let’s Talk GTM and you can read my bio at the end of this column.

I moved to GTM help you make the most of your business opportunities by making it possible for you to take advantage of BT experience in our home market.

Just recently I took added responsibility for international sales outside Europe and for our Global Indirect Channel (GIC). GTM, GIC and BT Advise serve the same customers so it makes sense to bring the teams together. [Read more…]

From the desk of Will Bruce: GTM in the Middle East and Africa

From the desk of Will Bruce: GTM in the Middle East and Africa

As I write to you today, I’m recently returned from my first time attending the annual conference of the Pacific Telecommunications Council.  It’s one of the top conferences for GTM because it’s such a great opportunity for meeting and talking face to face with customers.

For me, what came out of many of the meetings was the close link between Asia Pacific and MEA. Movement of the work force between the regions has created huge volumes of voice and data traffic, particularly from the Middle East back to Asia. Now that we’ve launched our Global IP Exchange node in Singapore, we’re seeing how we can help you address the Asian market better and expand your service offerings through our GIPX platform.

Back in our region, just before the end of 2012, BT in Dubai hosted a business roundtable to introduce the BT One “communications that unify” portfolio.  Speaking at the event, Wael el Kabbany, managing director BT Middle East and North Africa said, “BT’s vision is to make communications simpler, helping organisations transform the way they collaborate internally and the way they interact with their customers, partners and suppliers.” [Read more…]
