BT’s cloud solutions ranked at top in the German “Cloud Vendor Benchmark” report for fourth year in a row
BT announced that it has again been recognized as a leading cloud supplier in Germany by the analysts of Experton Group in their latest “Cloud Vendor Benchmark 2014” report. BT was rated as a leader in five categories: “Public Cloud Services”, “Enterprise Public Cloud Services”, “Managed Private Cloud Services”, “Cloud Services for mid-size companies”, and “Cloud Transformation”. On 14 May in London, Global Telecoms Business (GTB) presented its annual awards to the companies behind the most innovative projects in the telecoms industry. The awards were presented in five categories: Innovation in fixed network infrastructure, wireless network infrastructure, wholesale service, business service, and consumer service.BT won two awards, for innovation in fixed network infrastructure and in wireless network infrastructure.
The fixed network infrastructure award recognizes BT’s joint efforts with Alcatel-Lucent for the alien super-channel flexgrid infrastructure trial.
GTM and GENBAND won the wireless network infrastructure innovation award for their jointly developed diameter-signalling solution that enhances subscriber-roaming capabilities.
Chris Bruce, director of international sales and consulting services, BT Global Telecom Markets (GTM) and co-chair, Wireless Broadband Alliance, and Stuart Globe of GENBAND accepted the award for innovation in wireless network infrastructure. [Read more…]
On 7 May, Questex announced BT as the winner of the “Best International Wholesale Carrier Award” during Telecom Asia’s 17th annual awards, which was held in Jakarta together with its telco strategies conference.The trophy was awarded to recognise the BT Global IP Exchange offering, which has enabled the rollout of innovative new wholesale services, especially led by the launch of the Asia Pacific node in Singapore last October.
Now in its 17th year, the awards are the region’s longest-running and most prestigious telecom industry awards. They reward innovative and outstanding performance by Asian service providers and industry executives.
The Telecom Asia Awards selection is made by an independent panel of industry experts, who cast votes on the basis of innovation, financial performance, technology, market leadership and corporate governance.
A total of thirteen awards were presented to ten winners at a gala dinner in Jakarta and BT was the only non-Asian carrier to win an award this year.
