HGC and BT agree to work on IPX peering arrangements

Interconnection enables increased global reach to fixed-line and mobile network operators

Hutchison Global Communications Limited (HGC), the fixed-line division of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (stock code: 215), and BT announced an agreement to establish IPX network interconnection between the HGC Hutch-IPX Network and the BT IPX Network.

This agreement was announced at an official signing ceremony on 11 May 2015 in Chicago during International Telecoms Week (ITW) 2015. [Read more…]

BT extends its International Ethernet network

To meet the growing global requirements of its customers BT has extended its International Ethernet network so it covers 51 countries and this will increase to 73 countries by the end of 2015. Coverage will now include Latin America with Venezuela and Peru, the Russian Federation, even more key cities in Europe, 11 countries in the Middle East and Africa and 8 countries in Asia Pacific. Viva and BT launch Global IP Exchange node in Manama, Bahrain

Extending IP Exchange coverage and capabilities to the Middle East region to enable operators successfully migrate to IP based interconnection, BT and its partner VIVA have launched the new node for BT’s Global IP Exchange network end of March. Located in Manama, this first IP Exchange hub in the region complements the global coverage of similar nodes in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
